A year after designing Dr. Sheth's Lower Parel clinic, we were brought on board to refurbish her Marine Lines branch; the building was undergoing a major structural overhaul and the interior was to be completely broken down and reworked. This permitted us to reconfigure the original layout and optimise the space, allowing for additional rooms and added privacy for clients, as well as a back-end office with separate access.
In terms of design, we opted for the same look and feel as the Lower Parel clinic, featuring shades of white and bleached oak wood panelling. A mix of brass and marble was used to create the unique display system, featuring elements referencing a chemical laboratory. Terrariums helped add a touch of green to the interior and it was ensured that all the surfaces were easy to clean, in accordance with hygiene standards.
