Blocks of white Makrana marble are hollowed out into individual tubes of 6mm thickness, allowing for light to percolate. The tube is then fitted with strip LEDs, their light passing through in varying degrees, creating a unique effect; it serves as the base of the lamp, while an alabaster lampshade hand-carved and then inlaid with semi-precious stones by artisans of Agra finishes off the piece. As opposed to a conventional table lamp, in this case it is the base of the fixture that illuminates, as opposed to the shade atop it.
The Marble Inlay Table Lamp is available in a variety of inlaid and customisable palettes and patterns. The fixtures are made of solid brass and engraved with the studio logo.
